I’m a sixteen year old school girl from Mount Maunganui. I’m so lucky to have three homes; one with my Dad at the mount, with my Mum in Pauanui, and at my boarding house at Waikato diocesan school for girls. My friends and family describe me as a passionate, bubbly, caring and loving person. My passion is dancing and performing I have been doing this since I was five. I love the feeling of looking at the crowd and watching their reaction to my performance, I enjoy how the emotion I show can reflect on my audience. My Miss World New Zealand journey began in a way I would have never imagined. A couple days after a fun New Years at Pauanui beach I decided to enter the Miss Pauanui Pageant for a bit of fun, I ended up coming second runner up! I didn’t think a whole lot of it until I got a text from the gorgeous Michelle Isemonger. She was asking if I would be interested in joining the Miss World journey for 2018. I was blown away at the fact I was being asked to the most glamorous and beautiful pageant in New Zealand. Of course I understood being just 16 I would be one of the youngest contestants with never having participated in anything like this before, I knew I would have a lot to learn. But I felt something inside me telling me that this is something worth doing. What a journey it has been, the experiences and knowledge I have gained from my 15 consecutive weekends of learning, looking back I couldn’t be happier with my decision. Balancing Miss World and school each week was a lot of pressure for me, but this has taught me so many planning and organizational skills I will continue to use for the rest of my life.
